“nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates.”
The differences between physical matter, energy, and spirit are the level at which they vibrate. Physical matter is dense with a low vibration, the Universe vibrates at an infinite level, and in between there are degrees of vibration.
In the mundane and scientific world, the word vibration refers to the movement of an object back and forth.
In the spiritual realm, the vibration of an object refers to its energetic signature or personality, that is, the sort of spiritual energy it attracts or gives off. For example, an object may vibrate with loving energy or baneful energy. This vibration cannot be measured with physical tools the way a mechanical vibration can, but they can be felt or sensed.
These metaphysical vibrations can also be transferred from one object to another. Everyone has noticed that happiness and misery are contagious. A joyful person can bring joy to others and a miserable person can make others feel miserable just by being around them. Likewise, objects such as herbs and crystals can transfer some of their energetic vibrations to other objects or the people who wear and use them.
To spread positive energy and high vibes, when you raise your vibration, you will start to see great positive changes in your life. You’ll also notice that things are starting to go your way. Raising your vibration moves you closer to who you really are. When you resonate at a higher vibration, you are putting yourself in alignment with things also at that frequency, setting yourself up for positive experiences. Increasing frequency requires dedication, commitment, and effort over an extended period of time.
The serpent or snake has been used as a solar symbol of life, regeneration, healing and spirit work since the dawn of time.
The Snake is one of the oldest known representations of the goddess. The symbolic meanings for the snake stem from two different events: snake’s hibernation during the cold season, and snake’s ability to shed her skin. In the realm of spirit, hibernation symbolizes snake’s ability to move between the worlds. During the cold, dark days of winter, she dwells safely within the body of the Earth. With the return of warmer days, she answers the call of the Sun and comes once again to live on Earth’s surface, ready to be reborn.
Jormungand (YOUR-mun-gand) is a larger-than-life, Serpent in Norse Mythology. The creature has myriad titles, including “The Great Serpent,” and “The Midgard Serpent”. The beast lives in the oceanic waters surrounding the legendary world of Midgard. According to the legend, the creature wraps itself around Midgard while biting its tail – Jormungand is the Great Ouroboros or Cosmic Serpent. As the Ouroboros, the creature corresponds to life cycles, creation, reincarnation, past life regression, limitlessness, eternity, the Universe, and the Divine Feminine.
During the shedding process, the snake is visibly uncomfortable and unproductive. It doesn’t eat; it is irritated and sluggish, devoting all of its energy to this one task of ridding the old to make room for the new. Why is the snake shedding? To grow into a larger, more capable and more evolved body and existence. While snakes do this physically, we as human beings metaphorically shed our own skin when it is time to grow personally, or spiritually.
You see, the snake sheds its skin only after the new skin has already grown beneath it. In the same way, you are shedding your old identity because a new and glorious you is ready to burst forth! Only after you begin to wear your new skin, your new identity, will you have the clarity of vision to better understand the test and the growth that has occurred. Getting comfortable in your new skin takes time as well. After all, you are, in essence, a new person and your old beliefs and way of being have fallen to the waste side. The result, however, is that you are now a bigger person than your old self, cloaked in new consciousness and greater potential. You will be stronger, more enlightened, and more capable than ever before. You easily overcome the circumstances that previously seemed insurmountable.
Are you done growing? Not hardly.
The process will repeat again, with new adventures and new challenges, all a part of your soul’s evolution. While a time of shedding and then learning to feel good again is no easy process, it can be better accepted in looking at all you are becoming. Be kind to yourself as you stretch. Give yourself the room you need to grow. Slow down enough to examine who you want to be and where you want to go next. Above all, trust in the unfailing timing of the Universe and the surety of your ever-growing personal power.
